How to make Nick grumpy
It's actually not that difficult, given that I was most likely born irritable. However, was gets me particularly in a grumpy mood is this whole "start off the new year right and lose all of that holiday weight" mentality. Granted, in all honesty, I'm the one to blame for this one -- over the past several months, I've been lifting pretty heavy (maxing out @ 315lbs on the bench). While I've not been this strong in my life (i.e. gained muscle mass), i've also gained my fair share of fat to go along with this.
So. I decided to change tack and made a few changes: try to eat properly (something I should have been doing to begin with), and change my workout routine away from lifting heavy and do something that will prevent my muscles from atrophying, but also keep my heart rate up to lean down. God I need to fit in my regular jeans again. grr.
My illustrious trainer came up with the following piece of masochistic work to do. No rests are allowed in the middle of any superset, but I can catch my breath in between repetitions of the superset. ugh is all I have to say. I was theoretically supposed to do 4 rotations of each superset. I pretty much only managed half of that before the hour was up.
